Lauren and Dane’s spring wedding in New Orleans*was the perfect blend of relaxed elegance and heartfelt celebration. Set in the creative heart of the Bywater neighborhood, their day was full of small, intentional moments — and one unforgettable rooftop ceremony.

I started the day at their Airbnb on Chartres Street, where Dane and his groomsmen were getting ready. The space was calm and full of laughter — a great reflection of Dane’s energy. Just a few blocks away, Lauren was surrounded by her bridesmaids and family, soaking in those quiet pre-ceremony moments.

Before heading to the venue, the couple shared a private first look — one of my favorite moments to photograph. From there, we made our way to Capulet, a rooftop venue and restaurant that’s become a favorite for couples getting married in New Orleans.

Their ceremony took place on the roof just as the light began to soften — with city rooftops in the background and live music filling the air. After exchanging vows, Lauren and Dane led their guests through the streets for a joyful second line, one of the most iconic and celebratory traditions in a New Orleans wedding.

The reception followed back at Capulet with cocktails, a buffet dinner, toasts, dancing, and cake. Everything felt effortless and full of love — a celebration that was as relaxed as it was intentional.

As a New Orleans wedding photographer, these kinds of days remind me why I love documenting weddings here. The blend of culture, music, and connection is something you don’t find anywhere else.
